The Green Jr. High Quiz Bowl team recently competed at the South Central Ohio Educational Service Center's (ESC) quiz bowl tournament held on Wednesday, November 6.
Seventh and eighth grade students make up the junior high division. Students are asked questions from six different categories such Math, Language Arts, Social Studies, Science, Religion/Mythology and Fine Arts.
The final two teams are determined by first looking at the win/loss record. If there are more than two teams with two wins, total scores are looked at to determine who advances to the championship round. After two rounds last night, Green, Minford and Portsmouth each had two wins. Green had the highest score in the county with 88 points, securing Green a spot in the championship round. Portsmouth had 84 points and Minford had 80 points. Green and Portsmouth played in the championship round. Green came out ahead, with the win, 41-37.
