Since Veterans Day came at a time where large group gatherings were prohibited, students at Green High School were unable to have their annual Veterans Day Assembly. Students in Mrs. Madison Gaffney’s 8th grade ELA class, wrote formal thank you letters to local veterans in Scioto County.
Today, Mr. David Stevenson, a US Army Veteran, surprised Brandon Caruthers, who wrote the letter he received, with a brief, in-person visit. At that time Mr. Stevenson expressed his gratitude to Brandon for his letter with a few personal memorabilia items. Mr. Stevenson stated “you’ll never know how much receiving that [letter] meant to me”.
