As of tomorrow we will have 4 known active Covid-19 cases with numbers trending down in Scioto County. As a result, the plan follows: The mask mandate continues tomorrow so we can get weekend updates. If still in low single digits, we'll return to optional on Tues. Masking on the bus would still be required as per a Federal mandate. Thank you.

IMPORTANT SCHEDULE UPDATE PRESCHOOL ONLY Due to a lack of substitute coverage, preschool classes are cancelled tomorrow (Friday, Oct. 8).

The Green Local School District will hold a special meeting on Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at 5:30 PM in the High School Library for the purpose of appointing a new Board of Education member and any other action the Board deems necessary. If you would like to be considered, please submit a letter of interest to the Board of Education office no later than 4:00 PM on Friday, October 8th.

Picture Day is tomorrow, Tuesday, October 5th. There will be a scheduled re-take day TBA.

It's Homecoming Spirit Week!! Show your school spirit by participating in the themed days. They are as follows: Monday -- Generation Day Tuesday -- Dress for Success (Picture Day - forms were sent home last week) Wednesday -- Celebrity Day (Dress like your favorite celebrity) Thursday -- Switch It Up (students dress like one of the teachers or staff members & teachers dress like one of the students) Friday -- Pink Out (Breast Cancer Awareness)

TO: Green Local Students/Families FROM: Jodi Armstrong, Superintendent On Monday/Tuesday, the attached flyer (order form) was given to each student at Green Local. If your student has not brought it home, they can stop by the office to pick one up, parents/guardians may call the appropriate office to give the name and size needed or print and return the attached flyer. Each student in PK-12 will receive a FREE t-shirt to wear on the day of the groundbreaking. Please complete the order form and have the student return to their homeroom/advisory teacher on or before Friday, October 1. If additional family members would like to purchase extra shirts, they will be available for purchase at a cost of $20 each. Money will be due upon receipt of the shirt(s). Again, call the office or print and return the form. Make sure to note the quantity needed by the correct size. To reach the high school office, call 740-354-9150 and ask for Christi. Potter’s House is having a job fair next month on October 13th, from 1-4p. Juniors and seniors are invited to attend.

Mask Mandate Update — Our active Covid-19 positive cases has dropped below 10; however, the number remains in the high single-digits. The current trend is 1-3 new cases daily, and w/ most of the "surge" cases already coming off, we could easily go 10+ very quickly. As a result, I am extending the mask mandate another week in order to further assess trend numbers and other local data. Thank you.

Vaccination Update-12:30-3:30 FREE TODAY! 1. You are welcome to park at the Board Office and walk across or park behind the house. 2. If you are taking your child (12 years or older) you may come to the respective office for an excused absence/release. 3. All three vaccinations are being offered by the Health Dept: Pfizer, Moderna, and Johnson & Johnson. 4. Thanks to Green EMS for helping with organization! An ambulance will most likely be parked at the house. 😊

Congratulations to the Green Varsity Golf Team! Landon Kimbler shot a 52 winning the match against Clay while Kiefer McCalvin shot a career best 54. Also, Brennan Renison shot a 66 representing the Jr. High.

Friendly Reminder: There will be a FREE Covid-19 vaccination clinic tomorrow @ the Green Local meeting house beside the high school. This in partnership with the Scioto County Health Department from 12:30-3p. Ohio Medicaid/MyCare members 12 & older receive a $100 gift card.

Tonight’s game ball for the Bobcats game against the Fairview Eagles was donated by Steve Ruggles for Township Trustee. Mr. Ruggles has graciously donated all the home game balls for the Bobcats’ regular season.

Green Local Schools will host a "Vax on the Spot" location on our campus Tuesday, September 21 from 12:30-3:30p for those wanting to get a free Covid-19 vaccination. The flyer is below for your reference . Anyone vaccinated under certain care criteria will receive a $100 gift card.
